You can clone the homepage in an afternoon; you cannot clone a $10.5B distributed database company with a prompt.
The landing page is a weekend build; the moat is a 4-million-developer open-source community, $700M+ in capital, and being the default backend baked into Bolt, Lovable, Cursor and every other AI coding tool.
Not worth it as a real business — the marketing site is trivial to clone but valueless without the backend, and the backend is a years-long, VC-funded distributed-systems undertaking already dominated by a $10.5B incumbent with a massive community moat; only clone the landing page as a portfolio/learning exercise, never as a competitive product.
Supabase sits in the booming Backend-as-a-Service market, positioned as the open-source Firebase alternative and now the default backend for AI "vibe coding" tools like Bolt, Lovable and Cursor, with reported ARR scaling from ~$16M (2024) toward $170M+ by mid-2026 and a $10.5B valuation.
$0–20 for a marketing-page-only clone (Vercel + domain); if you attempted an actual BaaS clone with managed Postgres-per-tenant, auth, storage and edge functions, real infra costs would run into thousands/month at any scale.
A cloned landing page alone earns nothing — there's no product behind it; monetizing would require building an actual hosted Postgres/auth/storage platform, which is a multi-year, capital-intensive infrastructure business, not a weekend SaaS wrapper.

- 2.Recreate static marketing pages (/pricing, /docs, /blog, /contact/sales) as static-generated routes with placeholder content
- 3.Wire a simple contact-sales form to a serverless function or Formspree — skip real CRM integration
- 4.Stop here for a portfolio clone — do NOT attempt to rebuild the actual database/auth/storage/edge-function product; that is the multi-year engineering effort VCs paid $700M for
- 5.If genuinely building a BaaS competitor, start instead from open-source primitives: Postgres + PostgREST + GoTrue + a Deno function runtime, and expect a multi-year, multi-engineer roadmap

A prompt can trivially rebuild the Next.js marketing site — hero copy, pricing tables, product cards, blog list, docs nav — since it's standard SSR React with Tailwind-style components and static content.
Behind the marketing shell sits a globally distributed, multi-year infrastructure product: managed Postgres provisioning per project, GoTrue auth, PostgREST/GraphQL auto-generated APIs, Elixir-based Realtime, S3-compatible Storage, Deno Edge Functions, branching/CI, and enterprise billing/compliance — none of which is visible or reproducible from the crawled HTML/JS.
You could build it — but that moat means you can't win. Find a better bet.
